Germany: Anti-fascists gather in Berlin in Memory of Murdered Left-Wing Activist. Around 900 antifa demonstrators took to the streets of Berlin on Saturday to join an annual memorial rally for murdered left-wing activist and squatter Silvio Meier. He was killed by members of a far-right group 24 years ago at the city’s Samariterstraße subway station, where the rally began. The activists carried banners and lit fires as they marched through the streets. Some protesters got on a roof and set off fireworks. Tensions were high during the event, and two policemen were injured.

Anti-Nazi Boycott of 1933

The Anti-Nazi Boycott of 1933 was a boycott of German products by foreign critics of the Nazi Party in response to antisemitism in Nazi Germany following the rise of Adolf Hitler, commencing with his appointment as Chancellor of Germany on January 30, 1933. Those in the United Kingdom, United States and other places worldwide who opposed Hitler’s policies, developed the boycott and its accompanying protests to encourage Nazi Germany to end the regime’s anti-Jewish attitude.
